YWCA YWTeen Program serves girls entering 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th grades. It focuses on girls' development issues: making friends and keeping them; self-image and self-confidence; value of education; and making wise choices for their futures. The program consists of weekly classes held on school campuses. The classes focus on helping girls to meet the challenges of their young lives: accepting people who are different from themselves, avoiding gangs and gang behavior such as bullying, learning to evade peer pressure, and pursuing an education to help them achieve their dreams. Leadership Camps are four-day workshops held at YWCA in which successful professional women address the girls concerning career choices, manners, hygiene, STEM and STEAM topics, ethnic customs, and many other topics. Leadership Camps help girls expand their horizons beyond their zip codes.
