Advocacy

YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women, and promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all.

Participation in mission-driven advocacy efforts is a standard of affiliation with YWCA USA. At YWCA Corpus Christi, we advocate for just and equitable public policies that address the conditions and systemic barriers that give rise to the need for our services.

Our core advocacy efforts reflect the mission and values of the YWCA and focus on creating stronger, more equitable communities.

Our Core Advocacy Issues:

  • Community Dialogue: Increasing racial understanding and strengthening connections among diverse groups.

  • Women’s Economic & Political Empowerment: Increasing women’s income, economic opportunity, and political voice.

As a nonprofit organization, YWCA Corpus Christi works to inform and influence public policies and community priorities on matters related to our mission, core advocacy issues, and the best interests of our members, participants, nonprofit sector, and community as a whole.
