Imagine growing up in a home without books or even bookshelves. Now imagine what it feels like to attend an event, meet positive role models within your community, and spend the day reading and interacting with friends. And at the end of the day, you get to go home with an arm full of books, all for free! For many of our YWTeens, the YWCA Reading Rally is an opportunity to engage in an activity that they typically don’t have access to. The Reading Rally not only promotes literacy, but it introduces young girls in our community to a world of opportunities and knowledge.
