The YWTeens Leadership Camps are intensive, four-day workshops designed to teach group dynamics, leadership skills and multi-cultural communication skills. During the summer months of June, July and August, the camps provide the girls the opportunity to learn how to establish short and long-term goals and the steps it takes to be successful in achieving their goals; express their own creativity; open their eyes to their strengths, personal qualities and values; learn how to be a leader in a tough world; and explore continuing education choices and career options.
Camp participants get to visit with a variety of guest speakers and community leaders during the week-long workshop. Many of the guest speakers have overcome the same obstacles that today's young girls are faced with and they enjoy sharing their stories. The speakers introduce new ideas about higher education and future career choices and encourage the girls to reach higher with greater confidence.
The workshop ends with a fun but emotional graduation ceremony to acknowledge the strengths and accomplishments of each girl. With a certificate, new friends, and hilarious memories, the girls leave the camp with new goals and the confidence to go out and achieve those goals.
There is no cost for girls who are already enrolled in the YWTeen Program; however, the camps are open to all girls completing 5th and 6th grade. The tuition fee for non-YWTeens is $110 per girl and tuition assistance is available for qualified participants.
Holiday Camps are scheduled for Spring Break, Thanksgiving, and Christmas break. Summer Leadership Camps are scheduled for June through August. Check for availability.
